By accessing or using Tabster ("we", "our", "us") — including the website, mobile apps, and any messaging or email integrations — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
Tabster is a bill-splitting tool that turns receipts into interactive, shareable pages where friends pick what they ordered. We do not collect, hold, or move money on your behalf — we only help you figure out who owes what so you can settle up using whatever payment app you prefer.
Tabster is an independent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Zelle, Monzo, Revolut, Wise, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or any other payment service we may reference. All product names, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used here only to help you identify which app to settle up in. When you tap a payment link, you complete that payment entirely inside the third-party app under that app's own terms — we are not a party to the transaction.
Tabster operates a transactional SMS service. By texting a receipt image or link to our SMS number, you initiate contact and consent to receive a transactional reply containing a link to your processed receipt. Tabster does not send marketing SMS messages.
Message frequency depends on your use of the service. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for assistance. Tabster's SMS service is operated through Twilio. Full SMS terms are described in our Privacy Policy.
Tabster can also accept receipts forwarded by email to a per-user address we provide. The same single, transactional processing model applies: we parse the forwarded email and produce a Tabster receipt page. We do not subscribe you to any marketing list or share your email with third parties beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for the receipts and other content you send us. By sending us a receipt, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and display the content as needed to operate the Tabster service, including showing your receipts to people you choose to share them with.
When you mark a receipt or trip as Friends-visible, you grant us permission to display the summary card (place name, date, total, participant names and avatars, and any cover artwork or group photos you've added) to your accepted friends and to participants on that receipt or trip. You remain responsible for choosing what to make Friends-visible, and other participants control their own visibility settings — Tabster cannot make anything visible on another participant's behalf.
We may suspend or terminate access to Tabster at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may stop using Tabster and delete your account at any time through the app settings.
Tabster is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Receipt parsing uses third-party AI services and may contain errors — please review parsed receipts before settling up. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Tabster cannot control what other users do with information you choose to make visible to them (for example, taking screenshots), and is not responsible for downstream sharing by friends.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of Tabster after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
